Raising aspirations and enabling progression is so important for individuals and wider society and learning is central to this.

As someone who followed his own non-traditional route through education, I know how important access to education is.

Qualifications are the currency for widening access and social mobility  – playing a small role in this is the reason I get out of bed!

Every person deserves to make the most of their lives and this starts with ensuring that people gain access to education.

I am proud to be a trustee at Open Awards as we support the most disadvantaged in our community to achieve their potential.

Knowing that I’ve had a part to play in enabling so many students to access higher education is a real delight for me.
